My Journey to Jesus – Part 3

In My Journey to Jesus so far, Jesus has spoken twice, I’ve finally realised He’s real, and I’m just about to buy my first Bible.

Buying my first Bible

I spent a long time researching Bibles, and I knew I needed something that was in basic English and that could explain what I was reading as I read. I found the Tyndale NLT Life Application Bible was perfect. It had timelines, commentary, people profiles, and charts. You name it, it had it. Perfect!

From my research, I knew the books of the Bible weren’t in the order in which they were written, but I knew I needed to start at the beginning of creation.

As soon as I started reading, I felt like my mind was being blown with every verse. Things were making more sense to me, and along with my reading the Bible, I was Googling every question I had along the way, and this is where I found the website Got Questions. It always had the answer I needed. If you have questions, you should check it out too!

The Bible was consuming me, I adored the words I was reading, and I wanted to be in it all the time.

However, I was still reading ACIM.

An Encounter with an Angel – Click #1

On the 17th August 2023, I woke at 2am with so many thoughts running through my mind about how God works. I grabbed my notebook and started to draw a diagram; heaven, hell, God, Jesus, angels, demons, Satan, energy, vibrations, energy healing, etc. and how it possibly all fit together.

I was there writing and figuring out for 2+ hours. When my mind was finally empty, with no more thoughts, I lay down and said, “I just want to sleep”. Then I heard a click, like the crispest finger snap ever, right next to me. I felt sleep starting to wash over me, and a voice said, “Ahhh, here it comes”!

The voice I heard, I like to think, was an angel. It had to be. There was no other explanation for it.

The clicks are significant because I would experience them again a few weeks later.

The next day, I was heading to a friend’s house in Egham, Surrey, to look after her dogs for the week while she was away. I took all my books with me so I could continue my reading and figuring out. I had completed all my client work before I left, so I didn’t have any to do while I was there. I had loads of time to dig into the Bible and try to get some sort of understanding of how everything I knew fit together.

Jesus Spoke a Third Time

On the Saturday morning, 2nd September 2023, I got up early and walked the dogs because I wanted to go to the food market. This was odd in itself because I’m fussy with food and I would never eat anything from the market as it would be either spicy, fishy or have such strong flavours that I wouldn’t like it.

As I walked the dogs, I was thinking about God, and I said in my head, “God, if you’re real, can you show me in a way that only I can understand?” Then straight after I said, “Actually, don’t worry about it, because I already know you do”. I finished the walk and thought no more of it.

I dropped the dogs off and walked to the town. I popped into a couple of shops and then made my way into the market. I went past the first couple of stalls and as I reached this frail man with a black and blue walker, he was speaking to a woman next to him, suddenly as I was parallel with them, the noise of the crowd went down, and this old mans voice came up, and he said, “In the Bible, it says “Be still and know that I am God”. Then the noise of the crowd came back up again!

I was stunned! My mouth was wide open, tears were streaming down my face, and I rushed to the end of the market to get out of the way to sort myself out.

I have never heard anyone speaking about God before, apart from in a church or at Christmas or Easter, let alone in a loud market in a random town.

But here, now, after I’ve asked God if He was real, He spoke to me through this old man. Looking back, I wish I had spoken to that man to tell him how God had just used him, but I was so mind-blown at what had just happened, I didn’t.

God didn’t just stop there. I got back to my friend’s house, and for the next couple of hours, it felt like time stood still as I processed what had happened.

I felt like I needed to take my mind off it, so I got my iPad and opened YouTube. There, in the bottom right of the home page, was a thumbnail which read “Be Still”! Of course, I had to watch it. It referenced various verses, but the actual story they told was about Moses when he parted the sea – the same story I read that morning!

It wasn’t until later that I realised that in the NLT translation (which is what I had), the words “Be still” are not used in Exodus 14:14. But, the NIV and GWT do. Again, mind blown!

NLT: The LORD himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”

NIV: “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

GWT: “The LORD is fighting for you! So be still!”

I mention the God’s Word Translation (GWT) because this is relevant in a little while.

Another Angel Encounter – Click #2

I had been home a week, and I got woken up at 5am with a banging noise coming from the factory behind the house. It was like metal banging on metal; it was keeping me awake. Usually, the factory is quiet until at least 7am, so this noise was unusual. It was really warm, and the windows were open, so there was no way I was going to close them; it was far too stuffy.

As I wished the noise would stop, and said out loud, “I just want to go to sleep”, I heard the same crisp click I heard before, and I instantly knew the banging would stop, and it did. This was an internal, deep knowing, not a brain-thinking knowing, that it would stop as soon as that click was happening. (I hope that makes sense!)

The Veil Was Lifted

In the following weeks, as well as reading the Bible, I consumed hours upon hours of online content about Christianity and learning as much as I could. I then came across people being delivered from demons. It creeped me out, but I knew I needed to watch to understand what was going on and whether this was true or not. I saw many adults being delivered, and I still wasn’t sure if what I was watching was real. But then I saw a child no older than 7. As she was being delivered, her face changed; it contorted in such a way, and I could see something was taking over her face; it was speaking and was responding to the pastor, and then it hit me…

IT’S ALL REAL! THE WHOLE THING IS REAL!

EVERY SINGLE WORD OF IT!

It felt like I was seeing clearly for the first time, and everything was finally falling into place. The veil had been lifted!

I was crying a lot over the next few months at the realisation of this all being real and that I had been deceived for so long. That I, too, had been walking in the wilderness for 40 years. This was my 40th year, and the truth was falling into place.

At this point, I had stopped my pendulum dowsing as my main focus was on reading the Bible, although the pendulums were still for sale. My reading hadn’t yet reached Deuteronomy 18:10, so I was still unsure how all these other spiritual practices fit into Christianity and the Bible.

God Did It Again

It was late in the evening on the 21st October 2023, and as I was getting ready for bed, I started thinking about when I heard “Surrender yourself” in meditation in October 2021. I wondered whether any Bible verses mentioned it, and I found Psalm 37:7:

GWT: “Surrender yourself to the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.”

NLT: “Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for Him to act”.

I mean what?!!! Be still again!

Only God could do this. Only God!
